A Semester of Graduate Level Statistics

For those who don’t know, I am currently working towards and MBA in Finance at East Carolina University.  I am taking the entire program online, which made the statistics course I just completed especially challenging, and rewarding at the same time.

My semester long adventure with Quantitative Methods came to an end on December 10.  This indeed was an interesting class as it had been a couple of years since I had last delved into the work of statistics.  Items like Bayes Theorem and regressions came back into my day to day vocabulary.  I walked around work and home spouting out things like “I wonder if that data is positively or negatively related?”.  I am glad it is over for now.

Next semester is Statistical Methods, which builds off all of the knowledge I just acquired this past Fall.  It looks like multiple regressions and some basic calculus are in store for me this Spring.  It will be challenging I am sure; I  have never been scared of a challenge.

Oh, and I am sure you are wondering what grade did I get in statistics;  I finished with an A, thanks to the support of my wife and son and Dr. Cook, my professor.  For those who may be interested, I can offer tutoring if you are taking this class or at least a little friendly advice on how to approach it.
