PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE___________________________________________________

WACHOVIA CORP., CHARLOTTE, NC 2005 – Present

One of the largest providers of financial services in the United States, with retail and commercial banking operations in 21 states and nationwide retail brokerage, mortgage lending, and auto finance businesses.

VICE PRESIDENT, MANAGER OF EMERGING APPLICATIONS TEAM 2007 – Present

Deployed and managed the people, processes, and technology for application performance monitoring and management systems for the trading environment supporting Wachovia’s corporate and investment bank. Managed a new application discovery and dependency mapping technology initially rolled out in the investment bank. Liaised between the technology group that supported the investment bank and the corporate IT enterprise systems management group. Managed resources including the review process, ensuring the delivery of solutions that meet the needs of the company’s business partners. Mentored direct reports in areas including negotiation, due diligence, requirements and solution documentation, and working in political environments.

Select accomplishments:

· Successfully deployed Tideway Foundation Software Solution, resulting in a clean transition of the processes and technology to the corporate IT group. Delivered the project on time and within budget. Project success enabled the acceleration of a $200M program and reduced analysis of the data center environment time by 25%. The technology continues to be operational.

· Facilitated the smooth gathering of business requirements from Application Development Teams, forging new relationships with two groups that had historically created obstructions and challenges for project teams, keeping the project on schedule, and contributing to its’ success.

· Effectively managed resources through corporate financial turmoil, utilizing prior M&A experience to provide leadership and guidance for peers.

ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT & ARCHITECTURE 2005-2007

Elevated an outdated monitoring platform with an infusion of new ideas and strategic direction. Served as technical leader for the group with a goal of understanding the needs of the company’s most demanding customers, determining what the gaps were in the monitoring architecture, and devising/implementing a plan to remedy those gaps. Supported management as a trusted advisor on project financing and other group financial management functions. Fulfilled manager’s role in his absence to handle day-to-day operations and decision making. Succeeded in bringing disparate groups and organizations together within the bank to achieve established goals.

Select accomplishments:

· Documented the monitoring platform’s architecture, collaborating with several departments and teams to replace almost non-existant documentation.

· Demystified the project funding process. Mentored two peer architects in documenting project need, conducting financial due diligence, and presenting the project through various project review boards to secure funding.

· Successfully funded three infrastructure projects: an HP Network Node Manager project ($500K capital with $250K in cost avoidance), ESM Testing and Development Lab ($250K capital), and IBM Tivoli Monitoring Refresh project ($750K capital, tied to a $MM data center relocation project).

· Served as Lead Monitoring Architect providing extensive facilitation, negotiation and collaboration services with multiple organizations and an outsourcing company on a $100M+ online banking modernization project. Delivered solution on time, despite tight timelines and no clear requirements.

· Updated licenses for Tivoli & BMC Patrol software, coordinating with vendor, IT, Finance, and Production Services, saving $600K in maintenance costs by turning in unused licenses.

· Led a seamless upgrade of HP Network Node Manager from v6.x to v7.5. Developed effective process for handing off project from architecture team to the tools support team.

· Instituted procedures for ensuring projects were approved within technology services, disseminating information enterprise-wide via “lunch and learn” seminars by invitation from senior management.

· Spearheaded development of documentation templates for the enterprise management team, standardizing format/style and enhancing readability.

INTERNATIONAL NETWORK SERVICES, INC. – Roswell, GA 2000 – 2005

A premier technology consulting and software organization offering the expertise and network of a traditional service provider coupled with a broad range of professional services and business solutions.

BUSINESS CONSULTING MANAGER

Served as consulting mentor to junior and senior consultants, and as one of two primary resources assisting the sales teams, pre-sale, in driving new consulting services business. Drove new business with 75% of billings on mostly long-term projects, interpreting and providing an understanding of client business issues and challenges to consultants, and working with consultants to craft the best solution for fulfilling client requirements. Evolved pre-sales opportunities into engagements with the business consultant serving as engagement manager on large, multi-month consulting engagements. Position involved heavy travel (> 50%).

Select projects / accomplishments:

· Radian Group Project. Closed and subsequently acted as engagement manager on an 18 month $2M project with Radian Group. Projects involved three phases and, at one point, a project team of eight. Managed both INS and client expectations to complete one of the firm’s most long-term and successful engagements. Completed the project on-time and $50K under budget. Single-handedly managed all aspects of the project lifecycle, including P&L, resources, and delivery of services.

· BellSouth Project. Led a team of 20 technology consultants in a $20M project for Predictive Systems (bought by INS) under an aggressive (2 year) timeline. Architected, documented, and deployed a managed hosting service for the nation’s largest Regional Bell operating company. Product was an immediate revenue generator for INS.

· GE Capital IT. Collaborated with GE IT consultants to craft a solution for an outsourced network monitoring service to be resold by GE, utilizing GE’s Six Sigma quality processes. Delivered project under tight timelines.

· Server Consolidation Study. Performed a business case study consolidating server infrastructure, with estimated cost savings of more than $5.5M over an 18-month period. Project success led to additional engagements with substantial bottom-line impact.

· Financial Services Company. Principal architect for a multi-stage, 15-month project, producing $2M in incremental service revenue.

INACOM CORP., Alpharetta, GA 1997 – 2000

A technology management and integration services company specializing in technology consulting, education and procurement.

MANAGING CONSULTANT, ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT CENTER

Served as an Enterprise Systems Management engineer in the Network Operations Center and Remote LAN Administration team, presiding over multi-year/$M project engagements. Managed a group of consultants working remotely around the US maintaining systems used to remotely monitor the network and systems of Vanstar and Inacom’s outsourcing clients. Served as a pre-sales resource for large life cycle management deals where remote network or systems management services were being sold. Served as onsite engagement manager representing the monitoring center, ensuring the discovery and due diligence process ran smoothly in the field and that the solution being put in place for the client would meet their requirements. Position required 85% travel throughout the U.S.

Select accomplishments:

· Designed and released the NOC and RLA into production – project had been architected and designed from the group up prior to on-boarding customers into the NOC.

· Brought several large outsourcing customers onto the platform. Served as lead engagement manager for several outsourcing customers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, GE Corporate Research and Development, Alcoa, and Hearst Celanese (40,000 seats and $35+M in revenue).

· Drove initiative to document Enterprise Management Center (EMC) operations’ best practices.
