Second Level Statistics as a Distance Ed Student

I just completed exam 2 in my second level statistics course today.  The exam was actually pretty straight forward, to my surprise, but I also prepared a lot for the exam.  For those of you who are contemplating taking a graduate level statistics course, or for that matter, an undergraduate course in statistics online, you need to brush up on your math, specifically your algebra 2 and precalculus mathematics.  Although one does not need to know the intricate details of these two mathematical disciplines, it sure does help if you brush up on the basics of these prior to delving into a statistics course, especially if you are taking it via distance program.  Once this semester is over, I intend on posting some tips and advice for those that are planning on taking such a course in the near future.  I would be interested in hearing different perspectives on this subject.  Statistics has definitely been a challenge to take via a distance ed program and I am glad it is almost over.

In my next post, I will post my suggestions for what to brush up on as well as some good resources to use to assist you with the completion of the dreaded statistics course.
